Comparison
Plunge vs Renu (2026)
Plunge is the setpoint appliance most garages are shopping. Renu Cold Stoic 3.0 is the dual-temp furniture tub with a longer headline warranty and a smaller bath than the cabinet suggests. The fight is interior volume, chiller coverage, and which price is actually on the page.

Both brands sell a plugged-in cold tub with filtration and a dedicated 120V/15A story. They are not the same bath. On September 23, 2026, Renu’s Cold Stoic 3.0 page listed $11,399. Plunge’s All-In Gen 2 product page listed $7,990 against a $9,990 “comparable value,” while another Plunge collection page still said from $9,990. Checkout wins. Do not average the two Plunge numbers and call it research.

| Dimension | Plunge All-In Gen 2 | Renu Cold Stoic 3.0 |
|---|---|---|
| Street price we could see | $7,990 on the product page; a collection page still said from $9,990 | $11,399 on the flagship page |
| Temperature | Published cold setpoint story (37°F class on prior Plunge sheets — confirm Gen 2) | 37°F to 104°F, dual temp, published |
| Chiller | Integrated, confirm current HP | 0.5 HP, published |
| Circuit | Dedicated 120V/15A class | Dedicated 120V/15A, 12-foot cord |
| Water and weight | Prior All-In sheets were on the order of 100 gallons and about 1,150 lb filled — confirm Gen 2 | About 95 gallons filled (134 max); about 365 lb dry, about 1,155 lb filled |
| Interior | Lay-down tub; confirm Gen 2 interior length if you are tall | Tank about 40 in L × 25 in W × 31 in D inside a 70 × 33 × 35 in body |
| Warranty shape | Read the current residential warranty. Freeze and chemistry exclusions have been the Plunge failure mode on this site | Page says 5-year limited. The same page’s FAQ says 5-year body and 1-year on the chiller |
| Noise | Confirm the current sheet | About 58 dB at roughly 3 feet, published |
The bath is the product
Renu’s exterior looks like patio furniture. The published interior tank is 40 by 25 by 31 inches. That is a compact soak, not a swim spa. Tall buyers and broad shoulders should measure their body against that tank, not against the breath deck. Plunge’s reputation is a longer lay-down. If Gen 2 changed the interior, the spec sheet — not this paragraph — is the ruler. Full cold-tub context: best cold plunges.
Hot water is Renu’s real difference
Cold Stoic 3.0 publishes heat to 104°F and cold to 37°F in one vessel, with Wi-Fi. That is useful if you wanted contrast without a second appliance. It is not a sauna. Hot mode does not reproduce a traditional room or an infrared cabin. If heat is the main habit, start with how to choose a home sauna. If you only wanted 37°F, you may be paying for a heater you will not use.
Read the chiller line
Renu’s spec block says a 5-year limited warranty. The FAQ on that same page says a 5-year body warranty and a 1-year warranty on the chiller. Those sentences can both be “on the website” and still surprise you when the compressor is the part that dies. Plunge’s pattern on this desk has been a shorter residential warranty with freeze and chemistry exclusions. Neither PDF is a reason to skip water care. Chemistry and winter: cold plunge water care and outdoor plunges.
Verdict
- Buy Plunge if a cold setpoint in a larger lay-down bath is the job and the lower public tag survives checkout.
- Buy Renu if dual temperature, finish, and you have measured the 40-inch interior — and you have read the chiller’s one-year line.
- Buy neither this month if you have not done cold sessions somewhere else. Curiosity is a gym day. The worth-it page for Plunge is is Plunge worth it.
