Stack
A sleep-first recovery stack (2026)
If sleep is the leak, a 37°F tub at 10 p.m. can be a prank you play on yourself. Time the stressors. Protect the bedroom. Buy fewer glowing things.

Healthspan, training, and mood all go through sleep whether a plunge exists or not. Gear should be scheduled like caffeine: by half-life of how wired you get, not by influencer bedtime.
Timing rails
- Cold: morning or afternoon is the easy default. Late-night plunges keep some people up (and some people sleep like rocks — notice, don’t dogma).
- Heat: early evening can help some people downshift; too hot, too late, and you lie there pink and annoyed.
- Red panels: optically bright. Do not turn the bedroom into a grow tent at 10:30 p.m. Safety.
- PEMF mats: if you use one, it is often a couch/floor object. Do not let a 43 lb mat colonize the bed and wreck your mattress (or your back getting it off).
What we would buy if sleep is the named job
- The boring bedroom: dark, cool, quiet. Still first.
- A heat practice you already like, timed early enough. Blanket if space is small.
- Cold only if it does not turn into a 9 p.m. identity. Start guide.
- Skip a fourth modality until two weeks of sleep logs look less sad.
Not a sleep stack
Nootropic kits, “sleep peptides,” and pharmacy products. Out of scope. If a mat listing promises to cure insomnia, that listing failed how we rank.
